PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity accompanies Ray Bradbury's short story "The Pedestrian" and could be used in any ELA class, grades 6-12. Students analyze Bradbury's diction in reference to setting and character. This activity forces students to slow down their reading and focus on a writer's specific word choices and their impact on the work itself. This could be used as a formative assessment and does align with the Common Core State Standards: Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
