Are your students slumped in their seats, holding there heads up or just generally have poor written output? Use this write the room as a way to help them develop core stability and strength. Improved postural stability will improve the quality of their written output. Exercise and crossing over the mid-line of their body also helps to get both their left and right brain ready for learning. Use this product for a motor break or handwriting practice with a motor component. Providing short exercise or brain breaks during the school day can help improve on-task behavior. It can also be used for an occupational or physical therapy session, as a warm up or full therapy activity.
Includes write the room recording sheet and 12 exercises in two different fonts. There is a fun font and one for students who need a model to copy. The 12 different exercise cards can also be used separately for a quick brain break without the writing component.
Print worksheet and exercises. Cut up exercise cards and laminate for multiple use. Hang the cards throughout your room. Have the students wander the room to find the exercises, write them on their worksheet, then perform the exercise. Recommended 10 times each exercise and a 10 second hold for poses. Worksheets can be placed on a clipboard or students can put their worksheet on the wall near where the exercise is found to write. Writing on a vertical surface helps to promote a more functional grasp.
