PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is my complete pack of 50 brain breaks. It contains the good old loved brain breaks but also many new and fun brain breaks that my husband and I came up with - not simply taken from the internet. All my brain breaks have detailed description on various ways to do the brain break and have an underlying educational purpose (Eg. building co-operative group skills, listening, building on imagination etc).

My top 5 are:
1. Alphabet Dance - display Alphabet cards that have actions associated to them (I have included in the file). Children read/sing the alphabet and perform the action associated to the card. Great hand eye co-ordination activity.

2. Everybody is IT - everyone in the game is 'IT'. When someone is tagged, they sit down. But if someone else comes alongs and Hi-Fives them, they can join back in the game and become IT again. Be sure to set a time limit otherwise it just won't end!! Learning about inclusiveness.

3. Shape Shifters - using their bodies they make letters/words/objects in a time limit. I like to call out a number first to forms groups and then get students to work together to make the letter/word/objects (could use spelling words or letter of the week etc.) Great co-operation and social skill activity.

4. Tidy Teddy - This activity is great because it helps children understand the importance of organized and clean learning environments. When this brain break occurs, children stop, tidy up their desk, wipe down their desk, wash hands and have a sip of water. It's also a great self regulation activity.

5. Character Walks - Children walk around the classroom in silence. Tell students to think of a character they have seen in a story/movie they have read/seen. After 30 seconds, tell students to buddy up with person next to closest to them and introduce themselves as the character. After 30 seconds, ring a bell. Students start wondering around again. Teacher tells students to think about what kind of place to they live in. Then after 30 seconds, tell students to buddy up and describe where they live. Continue to do this a few times. It helps students release their imagination as they share with others. I love this activity because the children get to be whoever they want to be. It’s really good to get those shy students talking and helps develop oral language in ESL/EAL students.

All of this and many more can be found in this 50 jam packed brain break file. I'm sure you and your students will love them. These brain breaks will do amazing things to help those little minds re-energize, re-focus and revive the brain ready for learning.

PS: If you would like the cards to be a different colour please contact me I'll be happy to make changes and email the file to you directly.
