PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

I LOVE this set of brain breaks... so do my own children who are now teenagers. (They laughed the other day when we did them!)

This collection of brain breaks supports what I believe about multiple intelligences and includes activities that support the following strengths among students:

• performing arts (singing, dancing, and acting)
• visual arts (drawing and sculpting)
• spatial skills (puzzles)
• bodily-kinesthetic (large and small motor movements)
• verbal-linguistic (speaking, writing, and playing with language)
• interpersonal skills (working with others)
• logical-mathematical (sequencing and reasoning)

What I love about brain breaks is that:

• they’re short and simple, typically 2-4 minutes
• they can be done during an activity or between activities
• they can also serve as teambuilding or class building activities

If you're new to teaching or to using brain breaks in your classroom, this set includes tips to help you effectively manage them and, because they're open-ended in design, you can easily adapt them for any K-3 classroom. (Don't be afraid to try simple ones with older children. My 13-year-old was laughing today trying out "Jumpin' Jack Attack" with my daughter.)

The brain breaks include:

• ABC Remix
• A Canine Chorus
• Acting Up
• Air Bands

Most of the brain breaks do not require any special materials, however there are a few that need items such as straws, cotton balls, balloons, and a few other odds and ends. Parents can be a great source for donations for these few supplies.

Thank you for your interest in this item. Happy teaching! :)
