This is a great activity for kids who like constructing and love the hands-on approach! Originally designed with the gifted child in mind, these challenges provide “brain candy” for minds that think creatively and outside-the-box.
In this challenge, students will be creating a bridge that Farmer McStuffin’s turkeys will be crossing to escape before Thanksgiving! It involves teamwork and creativity. This lesson will have several parts, and kids will need to be in groups of 3-4. Students will brainstorm, and then be given a bag full of “Brain Candy,” which consists of a challenge and materials. Materials are everyday things found around the home or office, or bought cheaply at the store. And you can always substitute with things you already have!
This is the PERFECT Friday-afternoon-before-Thanksgiving activity! You will be amazed at how creative their end-results are! Happy Turkey Day!
