The 4th self-esteem activity is here!

Working on healthy self-esteem is the way to improve a student's life altogether!

Brain chemistry is an important factor in determining self-esteem. Identifying different brain chemicals and what they do is a good way to learn why you feel the way you do about yourself.

Students will create a family tree of themselves, their parents, and their grandparents. They should be encouraged to ask their family members for more information if they can to add in great-grandparents. Students then add in a personality trait or two of each of their family members. A list of potential traits is given, but students are welcome to use their own traits.

After the family tree, the students relate their family member's personalities against their own. They identify:

-which family member they think they are most similar to

-which family member they think they are least similar to

-which relatives people say their personality reminds them of

-personality patterns

-how their current self-esteem may be affected by brain chemistry

-areas that they need work on their self-esteem, based on their family history.
