After students learn about the parts of the brain and their functions, they can play this activity. The teacher needs to assign students a "disability." The teacher should disclaim that brain injuries are serious and the activity is not intended to make fun of anyone.
Directions: You and partner will be given a part of the brain. You need to spend a few minutes reviewing what that part of the brain does so you can act as if it doesn’t work properly for you. Once the party commences, one of you will be the partygoer and the other will be an observer. As a pair you need to introduce yourself to everyone at that party and make sure to, at some point during the conversation, exhibit the malfunction you have with your brain. The observer’s role is to write down the name of everyone you interact with and take notes on their behavior. When the party ends you will sit down together and figure out what each person had wrong with their brain.
