I am an avid user of brainpop in my 2nd grade classroom. The students are so engaged in every video because they absolutely love Annie and Moby!
I love the videos, but after many uses, I realized that I could do more with the wonderful content provided, so I decided to make these worksheets to go along with the videos watched.
I show a video and do the worksheet to introduce each new concept. It is the first thing we do after we fill out a KWL chart.
The worksheets really hold the students accountable to make sure they focus and pay attention. They also help me as the teacher. As we go through the worksheet together as a class it allows me to touch on each concept and give a little more introductory information.
ALSO!!!! I have no begun to add answer sheets with this for the teachers so that you have the answers right at your fingertips without having to watch the video beforehand to quickly create your own answer sheet.
The great thing about these is that you can use them in many different ways. You can do them as a whole class or you can have students break off and watch the videos on tablets or laptops in centers and work together.
