This open-ended game was designed for use prior to and on Veteran’s Day. It’s ideal for providing practice on targeted skills during small group instruction. Ordinal and temporal concepts can also be addressed (i.e. Which letter is first? Second? Fourth?
Which letter comes after the V?)
Contents: 4 “BRAVE” game mats and 20 letter cards.
Cut apart the letter cards, turn them face down, and place in the center of the table. Each student is given a “BRAVE” game mat. During each student’s turn, he/she takes a letter from the center pile and matches it to their game card. If they draw a letter that they already have, they put it back. The first student to spell “BRAVE” wins.
