Product Description
Students are used to composing online (think Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and this assignment capitalizes on this familiarity by requiring students to blog from a literary character's perspective from Brave New World. The document includes directions, links to two free blogging websites students can use (one is accessible if students have a free Google account), requirements for the activity, and a rubric. Students can compose individually or work in pairs.

→ Essentially, students must choose a literary character from Huxley's book (Bernard, John, Helmholtz, or Mustapha Mond) and publish at least four blog posts, of at least 250 words each, from their character's perspective that correspond with four different moments from the text. They write in first person in their character's voice.

→ While doing so, they have to be sure that their blog posts reference specific events/interactions from the text, and they also have to include links to websites and images/videos that reflect their character's interests and personality. Students must cite their resources in MLA format, and their writing must be grammatically sound, clear, and creative.

→ Overall, students have to think analytically about the text and write creatively. Preview the document to see the specifics of this unique assignment. This has been student tested, and it was incredibly successful in my classroom.
