This chapter review activity is a great way to make sure your students are understanding the novel. It is also a useful tool to review with your students after a section of the novel or at the end of the novel.
Prior to beginning the activity with the students, I assign each of them a chapter. This way they are not working on the same material, but they can also help each other. I allow approximately 30-40 minutes for students to complete the activity sheet, and then I have them jigsaw to review the chapters.
In this activity, students will:
→ summarize the chapter
→ Identify a key passage and explain its significance
→ Illustrate an important scene from the chapter
→ Identify and explain the most important character from the chapter
