What is progress and how do we define it? Students work in pairs and contribute to a class definition. Then students are broken down into pairs or threesomes to consider how BNW deals with those aspects of society (health, education, welfare, education, technology, etc.) that usually contribute to a positive view of society. Students are given a period to find specific examples. On Day 2-3, we go over those elements of society. Students may use smartboard or old-fashioned newsprint to delineate their topic and exs. Following everyone's presentation, class discussion: Are we meant to think positively about Huxley's society? why or why not?
