Third grade students are learning about countries around the world. This fun, engaging, and interactive activity asks students to create an EASY flip book as they learn about the country of Brazil. This is also a perfect way to learn about the country as we gear up for the 2016 summer Olympics.
We are making this flip book over the course of the time we learn about Brazil.
You can have your students make this flip book in any way you choose, but I would suggest printing pages 3-10, double stapling at the top of the flip book. Once you give the flip book to students, all they need to do is cut along the dotted lines and begin their study of Brazil.
The pages included in the book include:
*Map of Brazil: Where in the World?
*Flag of Brazil(and the meaning)
*Food of Brazil
*Traditions in Brazil
*Festivals of Brazil
*Tidbits about Brazil (schools, Portuguese influence, language, etc)
The second page of this Flip Book gives students directions on how to use colored pencils or crayons to help comprehend what they are reading.
They are asked to complete the following:
*Underline in Green = 2 interesting facts you learned on the page.
*Circle in Red = unknown words.
*Box in Blue = Things that are different than in your country.
*Underline in Orange = Things that are similar to your country.
