Break Cards

Product Description
These are 3 different sets of free break cards for you to use within your classroom. Break cards are a positive way for students to let the teacher know they need a break while practicing regulating their emotions. These can be used as an incentive or reward, or as a proactive strategy to help students struggling with regulating emotions. By allowing the student to choose when he/she uses a break card, it allows for more independence.

Visual supports are an important component in working with children who have behavioral and emotional challenges. This includes children with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, and more. Many of these children have significant struggles in regulating and managing their own emotions on a day-to-day basis. Visuals can provide a level of support that allows children to develop positive emotional regulation skills without an adult always being present. Therefore, such visuals are a critical component in helping kids to be more independent and self-regulating.

These break cards can be used by special educators, classroom teachers, or other support staff. They can be used for across several age and grade levels.
