Great for students on the autism spectrum. It can be used well for any students who need help with their frustration level. Students can turn in a break card when they have moved up the frustration scale. There are 4 break cards. I laminate the scale and tape it down to the child's desk as a visual. I put Velcro on the back of the break cards and fasten these to the child's desk. The child quietly hands me a Break card as needed. It helps my student use the Breaks sparingly since he needs to use the 4 Breaks when he really needs them and not just when he isn't in the mood to do the classwork. It's helping him learn to recognize his feels and to be proactive in solving his problem before it gets out of hand for him.
