This is a simple recipe with only five ingredients. It is done in a microwave so it is safe and easy to do with all students. I do this with my self-contained class of students in middle school on a first/second grade level.
The first page gives the recipe and directions. At the bottom of that page, students are to cut out the five boxes at the bottom. They are to glue them into the correct boxes on the second page that lists the ingredients. The third page requires students to highlight or circle the correct word that makes the recipe correct from a field of two.
Students love to make the breakfast ring. The informational text is relevant to the reading curriculum, and the students learn life skills too!
