Students will research plate tectonics, plate boundaries, earthquakes, land-forms, and tsunamis in this PBL. Once the students have completed their research, they will create a storyboard outlining how they will produce a video explaining their portion of this large topic.
Suggestions for how to break the class into one or two large groups is included in the project so that the students are still, ultimately, responsible for the learning outcomes. A rubric as well as an accountability sheet for filming and post-production days are included.
For teachers, like myself, in areas were fracking is starting to become a new earthquake concern, this aspect is included in the project as well.
