If you liked BREAKOUT DDS for grades 3-5, you’ll love using this simplified version of the activity with your K-2 students! These 2 sets of breakout box activity sheets feature call numbers from the ten main DDS categories. Students set the locks to the call numbers, open the locks, and find the same clues as the older students (but presented in a more simplified way). They record their clues on the chart, and use those numbers and letters to open that final lock and get their prize. Using the same set of final lock box clues makes it easier to use Breakout DDS with all K-5 students at the same time. The original BREAKOUT DDS pack contains all the directions for creating your own lock boxes and conducting the activity. Once you use these kits, you’ll be able to create your own activities to provide even more fun with lock boxes. Or watch for more activity sheets to use in your library classes or in the classrooms.
