For this breakout, students will be focusing on 5 types of figurative language: personification, simile, metaphor, hyperbole and onomatopoeia
. The students will have to solve clues and puzzles by reading a short story, matching sentences to types of figurative language, definitions of figurative language and and writing their own sentences using figurative language.
