Pittsburgh is the city of 3 rivers. The Allegheny and the Monongahela converge to form the Ohio which meets up with the Mississippi and flows out to the Gulf of Mexico. A city with such a geographical formation would of course need bridges to be able to have transportation. This Powerpoint shows the name of the bridges, the type and some historical and fun landmarks associated with the bridges. I used this Powerpoint when I taught "Pop's Bridge" from the 3rd grade Journey's series as a social studies connection..
