PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

For teachers using math workshop, guided math, math centers, or are looking to find other ways to differentiate instruction, quality instructional activities are essential. My "Dollar Deal" games have been a fantastic way for teachers to do just that--at a great price.

One thing I have been asked for repeatedly is bundles of games...and I have struggled because often teachers who are looking for a fractions game, don't really care about a game for basic addition facts--but I think I've come up with a solution! Introducing--"Bright Ideas Bundles"--small collections of games on a single topic--like fractions, or place value, or addition. By putting several of these games together, your stations or centers are ready to roll--and nicely organized in one folder. Also, to help with classroom organization, I have included some suggestions for use AND labels to use on bags or bins to really keep all your resources ready to use. I hope you like these mini collections!

This edition focusing on "structuring"--the deep understanding of how to partition and combine numbers which is a key factor in students’ development of number sense. Being able to “add 10” is critical—and also using that information to also “add 11” (add ten plus one more) and “add 9” (add ten and take one away) help build number understanding that can lead to increased fluency and place value understanding. This game provides students with practice on all of these—adding 10, 11, and 9. Making combinations to make 10 and 20 are also key--and these 4 games provide ample opportunity for students to work hard at these foundational skills.

Remember to really teach addition, students need to understand how numbers work together...using linking cubes or other counters are great ways to "build" and break apart numbers. Too often we ask students to “memorize” their facts before they understand the structuring concepts involved! Use these game to TEACH, then let students continue to play it to practice fluency! Perfect for interventions for intermediate grades and equally ideal for ALL students in grades 1 and 2.

Check out the preview to see the four games. Links are included if you want to read the descriptions of each. Remember, if you already own these games, this bundle won't help you unless you want to add the labels to your organization system.
