BYOQ games are a fun way to review for a test, check homework or worksheets, or complete a deck of task cards as a class! These seasonal game boards can be used for any subject. You provide the questions-- no typing needed.
If you are not familiar with BYOQ games, watch the example video (video shows Bring Your Own Questions Christmas Elf PowerPoint Review Game) or scroll down to the link for a freebie.
You can have students work individually or divide them into teams. These game boards have from ten to twenty items each, so try to divide students accordingly.
When a student or team answers correctly, they get to choose a numbered star or Christmas decoration. Clicking on the number reveals the points they have earned. Each number can only be clicked once.
There is no score board within the game. By keeping score on the board, students will be able to see which team they may (or may not) want to switch points with, if that is their prize.
The random number of points and possibility of switching points with another team means any student or team has the chance to win or snatch victory from a classmate at any time. However, if you use a board multiple times with the same students, they will learn which numbers lead to which prizes.
In order to reuse this game board but keep your students guessing, I have included instructions for reordering the point slides and/ or hyperlinks.
I hope your students enjoy this game as much as mine do! If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
