“Bring on Spring” is a literacy resource full of interactive activities and printables.

Here’s what you’ll get:

ABC Order Sort with recording sheet [3 sets (24 cards in total)]:
Students will read and alphabetize words in each word card set. After alphabetizing each set, they will record the words in alphabetical order on the accompanying recording sheet.

4 ABC Order Cut and Paste Activities:
Students will read the given word list. Then, they will cut and glue the words in alphabetical order on the recording sheet.

True or False ABC Order Scoot with recording sheet (20 Cards):
The students will walk around your classroom to find each “scoot” card. Then, they will read the group of words on the card and decide whether or not the words are in ABC order. They will write “true” in the box with the matching number on their recording sheet if the words are in ABC order and “false” if the words are not.

Read the Room with recording sheets (2 Variations):
Students will walk around your classroom to find each sentence. They will read the sentence and decide if the missing word in each sentence is “was/were” or “has/have.” (There are 2 editions each accompanied by a recording sheet.) The students will record the correct word in the box with on their recording sheet with the matching number.

“I Have…Who Has?” (5 sets):
There are 5 different sets included (rules for long vowel a, e, i, o, and u.) Each set is a different color. Pass out the desired long vowel set to your class. The student with the “start” card begins the game. Students correctly read the words until the “finished” card is read.

5 Read and Draw Activities (5 different versions) :
There are 5 different versions included (rules for long vowel a, e, i, o, and u.)
Students will read the word in each box. Then, the students will draw pictures to illustrate the words.

Blooming Words (Word Building Mats):
There are 17 different mats included for various long vowel sounds. (rules for long vowel a, e, i, o, and u (such as a_e. ay, ai, ee, ea, ow, oa, o_e, y, i_e, ie, ight)
Students will spin the spinner on the mat. Then, the students will decide if the word they created is a real or nonsense word and record it on the mat with a dry erase marker.

4 Magnify and Write Activities:
There are 4 different Spring Picture Cards containing various “hidden” words. Students will use a magnifier to find the hidden words. Then, the students will record each word that they find on the accompanying recording sheet. There are 20 words to find on each card. After all 20 words are found on a card, the student can choose five of the words that they found and use them to create sentences.
