In this activity students learn about the field of hydrology. They take on the role of a water molecule and follow it through a portion of the water cycle. After the activity, students discuss how water interacts with earth's crust, and how the water cycle connects to a career as a hydrologist. This lesson aligns with MS-ESS2-4, and could be adapted to meet the advanced level of HS-ESS2-5.
