This assignment is applicable to both, high school and college Studio Art courses. It can potentially involve every formal element (though I chose to address only shape, form, color, and iconography).
The assignment involves transforming a two-dimensional piece of art into a three-dimensional sculpture. The catch, however, is that they must DESIGN the two-dimensional piece of art themselves; thus, I have used this assignment as an final design project prior to the students' quarterly critiques.
The project also incorporates 3 different techniques: drawing, painting, and sculpture
The PowerPoint includes:
- Assignment Objectives
- Models of Artwork
- Process Description (for each stage of the assignment)
- Materials (for each stage)
