A bit of history.
From the 1939 and rather worn but not used.
The title says: The Royal Family Visits Canada on their tour of the Commonwealth in 1939. They also made a very historic and ground -breaking visit to the USA for the first time.
The original postcard is a black and white photograph on good grade photo paper.
I consider this a bit of home front propaganda as its one of the postcards that was seen as worthy of high grade paper during a time when rationing was starting This postcard was printed - or at least stocked and sold, throughout the war years.

I rather like old postcards. Indeed I have been known to use them as a reason to learn cursive. Who is not tempted to read other peoples mail?
As I see it there is a story behind this picture.
So I print them up and get students to write a postcard. Something more than "having a wonderful time - wish you were here."
Witty perhaps? Or just chatty.
They can even send the postcard - I check it over, record a mark, give them a 1 cent (Canadian stamp - generally a flower, puffin or baby polar bear.) Frank the stamp and hand it to the class post person who slips it in the locker/mail slot as addressed.
These scans are 600 bpi so you can size the image to requirements- use a whole standard sheet of paper if you want.
