This is a PowerPoint with DoodleNotes (graphic organizers) to take notes and answer questions on. My students really like taking notes like this. Taking notes like this really sparks conversation. Students aren't trying to write down everything that you're saying and that's on the board as quickly as possible. Instead, they have time to ask questions and contribute their own thoughts. They also enjoy doodling and coloring right along with the discussion. They're very focused when it comes to doodlenotes. This opens up the possibilities for WebQuest activities and so much more. My students seem to be more willing to do their own research and such once we have completed our doodlenotes.
Included in the PowerPoint and doodlenotes are several questions, QuickWrites, and an AB partner discussion. The AB partner discussion is a Kagan strategy. You can turn any of the questions and Quick Writes into a Kagan strategy.
