This is an assessment that I use during my Breakup of the British Empire Unit. The point of this assessment is to familiarize students with when different countries got their independence from the British Empire, and what was going on around the world at that time.
This product assesses the Historical Thinking Skill - Chronological Thinking. It is a great start to a unit on the Breakup of the British Empire because it does two things. First, It assesses a historical thinking skill, and the students ability to organize events chronological order. Second, It helps familiarize students with events that happened around the time that some of these places got independence.
Included in this assessment is:
16 cards of world events and dates of independence from Britain
Graphic Organizer to organize information
Timeline sheet to chart events
