This resource is a sequential (clues lead in to each other) escape room that involves logic puzzles, cipher puzzles, and connection challenges all related to British Literature. It is based on a fun scenario that puts students on a mission to escape an enchanted book of British Literature.

The puzzles will take them from the Medieval Period all the way through the Victorian Period. There are seven tasks in all. Though it was created especially as a final for my British Literature classes, it could be used as an introduction to British Literature with a few tweaks or as a fun way to practice close reading, critical thinking, and cooperative learning. My students had a blast making connections and working together while showing what they know about reading and analyzing British Literature.
