Supporting First Nations/ Native American Literature and Legends in the Classroom
Brothers of the Wolf,
written and illustrated by Caroll Simpson, explores First Nations’, (Native American) Literature with reading strategies such as visualization, connection, questioning, predicting and summarizing.
Easy to use reading response pages have been created for each lesson; as well as student evaluation and teacher assessment rubrics for each page.
Included is a First Nations’ / Native American Supernatural design booklet. A brief description is provided on many common supernatural creatures. Students can use northwest coast design elements (examples provided) to design supernatural creatures. Blank lined and interlined versions are also provided as an alternative research project.
