Already this school year I'm finding young unique learners who are ready to start tackling sight words. I created this file folder game using familiar shape names to get my little ones started. This game includes two versions: one with the word for a prompt to match and one without the word so children can just put the name on the shape without visual cues. I will use this game first in a guided learning situation and then move it to an independent learning center as children master the task. This game includes the following sight words: bear, bird, cat, dog, sheep, frog, duck, fish, teacher, horse.
Instructions for creating the matching task are included in the .zip file.
This folder game is perfect for use with many of my adapted books. My adapted books are created for use in pre-K, preschool, early childhood special education and child care classrooms. Want more adapted books in other themes? To see my inventory of adapted books, click here.
