BUBBA BAGS are Ziploc bags full of safe, eclectic and intriguing objects that children can use to design/create and build something that will answer a specific question about......anything.
This resource includes 80 age appropriate questions that children will answer by 'creating' the answer from the items in their bags, and a complete list of 20 easily obtained objects that offer good choices for the children when they create.
Of course the questions for K-1 are easier and more literal than the questions for 6th graders. You will see as you read over the 80 choices.
Bubba bags can also be used as a different way of assessing. Instead of true/false tests, or essays, or even math problems, ask the kids to show you the answers by creating the answer...then explaining what they have built and why. That is the strength of this activity.
If you have never done this kind of experience with your kids before, give it a try, you will be surprised at the intelligence that comes from showing rather than saying or writing.
