My students had so much fun writing!
After discussing how to write a persuasive paragraph, my students wrote a persuasive paragraph trying to convince me to allow them to chew gum in class. We shared them out loud and validated their arguments.
Then, I gave them a piece of bubble gum and they had fun trying to blow a bubble. While they were chewing, they helped each other write how to blow a bubble.
The last paragraph was entertaining! They used a story starter to write what would happen if they blew a bubble so big that it lifted them off the ground.
I put these writings together in a lap book with a balloon in the center. You can make these without the balloons by just having students color the bubble on the center paper.
Also included is a poster that you can display with the 3 types of writing and a quick worksheet sorting the 3 writing types on gum balls.
I got my students to enjoy writing all for the cost of a bag of bubble gum!
