Bubblegum Math is a dice counting game for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. The mat features a brightly colored gumball machine with a large globe.
Print four mats on cardstock or matte photo paper and laminate for extra durability. Use the mat with dice, pom-poms, or foam circles. Children "fill" their machines with 20 "gumballs". Then they take turns rolling the dice and taking gumballs out. The first person to empty the machine is the winner. Then they can play again!
I use this game in one of my Guided Math stations. It is a fun way to teach one-to-one correspondence as well as vocabulary ex. more, less, equal to, same, different. I updated the game in June 2015 and included addition/subtraction cards you can use instead of dice to refill or empty the machine (whichever way you choose to play).
