A useful two-sided sheet for sending students to a buddy room to redirect their behavior. One side is for the teacher to fill out giving information on the student for other adults to know where they have come from and why they are there. The other side is for the student to fill out showing they understand their problem behavior and what to do about it.
Buddy rooms are an excellent method to redirect problem student behavior in a non-punitive way. I should not be viewed as a consequence or punishment, but as a gift to the student to be able to get themselves back under control. It also serves the very useful purpose of changing the game on students trying deliberately to disrupt your classroom by removing their audience.
