Students determine if the people on each task card are spending within or outside of their budget. Students work with net monthly incomes and monthly spending guideline percentages to determine if spending is too much or too little and what should be spent in the various expenditure categories. Students are asked to give advice on where a person could save more money and analyze grocery lists, gas payments, monthly expenditures, paycheck deductions and work with percentages.
All task cards and the answer sheet and key can be seen in the preview. There are also black-bordered Spending Guidelines pie charts (not seen in preview) that can be given to students as a reference during the activity and/or pasted into an interactive notebook.
Sometimes net monthly incomes are given, other times students need to find net monthly incomes based on the information in the problems. There are 10 task cards, each with multiple questions. A student answer sheet and answer key are included.
