About this project: This is a project on budgeting a bank balance. Each student in a class is given a life card. The life card will have information such as beginning bank balance, occupation, number of children, and living situation of that person. Students will have to research their occupation and estimate weekly salary.
Students will have to calculate the cost of living and general expenses such as:
Rent, car insurance, groceries, cell phone bill.
The teacher can choose four unexpected events to make the game engaging. Students cut the events and randomly select four unexpected events.
Writing a check:
Students will have the pay their bills by writing out a check. Each student should have at least 8 cheeks. Print and cut out the checks in color ink.
Students will keep track of their daily bank balance using the balance sheet.
At the end of the game, students can share whether they were able to manage the budget or they went bankrupt.
