An informational text relay race is an activity that allows students to closely read a passage of informational text and answer text based questions about the passage; with the added motivation of friendly competition to make the activity more engaging. Students work together, use accountable talk, and get immediate feedback regarding their level of understanding of the covered content. This activity includes a passage about the Buffalo Soldiers of the American West.
