This insect themed unit includes eight ready to use math centers. They are perfect for your spring math tubs.
Included are the following activities:
pgs. 3-5 Subtract and Cover – Students roll 2 dice and subtract the smaller number from the larger number. The result is then covered on the player’s gameboard.
pgs. 6-9 Greatest and Least – Students choose a card that contains four numbers. Students must find and record the greatest and least numbers on the recording sheet.
pgs. 10-14 True or False – Students sort number sentence cards under the true and false headings then record on the recording sheet.
pgs. 15-17 Three dice Cover-Up – On their turn each player rolls three dice, adds the total and covers the number on their gameboard.
pgs. 18-20 Spin and Cover 4 in a Row - Students spin the spinner and find an equal equation on the gameboard. The first player to get four in a row wins!
pgs. 21 – 26 Ants on a Log Fact Families – Students sort addition and subtraction cards under the correct log. Results are recorded on the recording sheet.
pgs. 27-29 What Did Spider Catch? Count and Tally – Students count the variety of insects on the spider web, count, graph and tally.
pgs. 30-32 Doubles Plus Five – Players roll, double the number, add five and cover the number on their gameboard. Play continues until a player covers all their numbers.
Each station includes an "I can..." card to help build student independence.
