Tired of seeing sentences that read "I like my dog." and "I run outside." ? I am!
I created this 'build a better sentence starter pack' with 20 printables and answer keys for teachers like me. Each printable is different, with different prompts, key words, and reasons. You may want to complete the printables as a group. You do not have to use the answers I included in the answer key; the answer key is merely there for suggestions.
The printables are:
*I go [where: to the mall] [with who: with my parents] [when: on Saturdays] [why: to watch the newest movie]
*The frog [is what: sitting] [where: on a lily pad] [doing what: waiting for flies] [why: because he is hungry]
*My teacher [likes what: to sing] [with who: her family] [when: at Christmas] [why: because it brings her joy]
*Hiking [with who: my dog] [where: at the park] [is what: fun/healthy] [why: because it stretches our muscles]
*Rain [is what: falling] [where: outside my window] [how do I feel: sad/happy/cold] [why: because I can't ride my bike]
*I am [doing what: reading] [with who: my sister] [while we: while we study] [why: for our test about bugs on Tuesday]
*Baseball is [is what: fun/boring] [when: when we play at school] [where: during gym/outside] [why: because I love to play]
*My cat [is what: walking] [with who: walking with me] [searching for: and we're looking for food] [why: because we are hungry]
*Pizza [is what: yummy] [when: it is delivered] [where: to my school] [why: because it is hot and cheesy!]
*Sammy [likes what: likes to fish] [with who: her dad] [where: at the lake] [why: because she loves to be outside]
Again, encourage your kids to make up their own sentences, but follow the prompts given.
