This packet contains 36 different “buildable” cupcakes. 36 colorful bottoms and 36 sparkly tops can be assembled in a “word work” phonics center or used in small group instruction and/or intervention. Students assemble the cupcakes by reading the target CVC words and matching it to the corresponding picture on the cupcake top.
A page with blank cupcakes is included for generalization.
Cookie sheets are also provided to use with assembly.
Other activities can include:
~sorting by word families or rhyming pairs (lip/sip, win/fin, mat/bat, etc.)
~select target phonemes for articulation remediation (ex: lip, leg, lap)
~sort by Categories (food, people, animals)
~ sort by Nouns and Verbs (mat/ham/bib or nap/hit/hop)
~Use in oral and written sentence frames or sentence generation
~Use with sentence frames (“A _and a _are both_.”)
These cupcakes are a fun addition to the classroom or therapy room all year.
