This is a project I created while teaching the Fur Trade to middle years students. This project is designed as a simulation like project where students are tasked with determining where in pre-confederation Canada to build a fur trading post. Students are asked to place their fur trading post on a map, determine what products will be available for trade, create a written response justifying their choices and to build a 3D model. Sometimes years I will ask students to present their projects to the class and decide which project would actually be built based on students research and justification. Students always have a lot of fun with this project! This project also links to my Fur Trading game really well.
