A fun, interactive Build-A-Snowman game you can use all winter long! Includes 200 cards with stimulus pictures to target common phonological processes (stopping, fronting, cluster reduction, gliding, syllable deletion, final consonant deletion). Clusters include s-blends and well as /l, r/ blends.
I have also used this to target pronouns ("He has a...") and MLU (putting 3-4 words together, such as "___ on the snowman" or "Put on ___"), even WH questions about the pictures! Easy to use in a mixed group.
To Play: Print, laminate, and assemble snowman picture scene. Print, laminate, and cut out snowballs and snowflakes.
Option 1: Once the snowman scene is assembled & laminated, lay the snowman on the floor. Have students pick a snowball card & say the word. They can then lay the snowball anywhere on the two large circles/snowballs to help “build” the snowman. Blank snowflakes can be placed anywhere on the scene, as well-- use these for extra word practice with any target!
Option 2: Once the snowman scene is assembled & laminated, tape the snowman to a wall or the back of the door. Place Velcro pieces throughout the picture scene (on the two large snowballs comprising the snowman’s body, falling from the sky, on the ground, etc…) and also place Velcro pieces on the backs of the snowball and snowflake cards. After students say a word, they can place their snowball anywhere on the two large circles/snowballs to help “build” the snowman, as well as place snowballs/snowflakes anywhere else you placed Velcro.
