Included are tests 2-12, as well as the snowman outline and a letter to send home. I print off each for students and staple them together in a packet form.
I send this home the day before winter break and explain the directions to the students. They are to complete a page a day to practice their multiplication skills. Once done, an adult needs to check. The student then corrects their errors using a multiplication strategy like drawing arrays or equal groups, etc. They then “color” and draw in the piece of the snowman that corresponds with the number they have completed.
I don’t know about you.. But it seems like during winter break my kiddos forget all their multiplication facts and we’re starting back at ground zero when they return. This activity is to entice students so they continue their practice and by drawing a snowman as they continue their facts it is more engaging for students to follow along.
