The project is a fun way to teach your students about animal habitats using a project-based learning approach. During this project, your students become Habitat Creators for a local zoo. They will pretend that a local zoo has contacted them to design a habitat for one of their animals. They will need to research this animal to find out its needs. They will then create a diagram of their habitat design, and write a three paragraph essay describing their project.
The following items are included in this project:
-Daily teacher lesson guide
-Research Grid to help guide student research
-Research Question Guide for easier note taking
-Project launch letter with a list of student friendly search engines
-Animal Assignment Sheet for teacher records
-Project Checbric to guide the students through their work and easy teacher assessment
This project is a great way for students to practice their science and research skills for a project based learning approach!
