Build a Sentence with Color Words
This is an awesome way to get Kindergarteners to learn their
sight words and begin to read. The students put the words
in order and glue them down on the lines. They learn that
the uppercase letter comes in the first box and the period
comes in the last box. This activity is great for sentence order and structure. I’ve been making these activities up for years and have had great success with teaching my students to read and write. They love building sentences and then illustrating the picture. The large colored picture cards are to use on the board to teach the lesson or in a pocket chart at a station. The 4 color words are used in place of the sentence if your students are not ready to build a sentence yet. Colors included are red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, brown, black, white, pink and gray. Happy Learning!
