PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity can be used with Kindergartners and 1st graders.
For K, students can work through numbers 6-10, represent those numbers with cubes, then draw a representation of those numbers using a 5 group. They can also write an equation ( 5 + ___ to represent the whole as a part of 5 and extra ones). It can also be used to build all numbers 1-10

For 1st, students can represent numbers 1-10, draw numbers, and then write an equation to show the other partner that equals ten.

Students can pick a card out of a pile, roll a dice, or you give them the number to represent. Print this out and throw in a transparency sheet.

This follows Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract framework, which I call Build-Draw-Write.
