Description

"Build Your Own Superhero!" is an open-ended general reinforcer game you can use with any speech/language target during therapy sessions! Included are 7 pre-made Superhero mats, 7 pages of blank build-your-own Superhero mats, 1 die mat, and 4 pages of Superhero attire items.

**Download the preview file to get a better idea of what is included!**

HOW TO PLAY:
Option 1: Using the pre-made Superhero mats

A) Let students pick which Superhero mat they want to use (pp 4-10). Place all of the Superhero item cards (pp 11-14) face down on the table. Have students draw a card after practicing their speech/language target. If it matches an item on their mat for their particular Superhero, they get to keep it and place it on their mat. If it doesn’t match, the student puts the card back in the pile. The first person to fill up their mat is the winner!

OR

B) Use a 6-sided die and the corresponding die mat included (p 3). Place the Superhero item cards facing up on the table. Have students roll a die after practicing their speech/language targets. Students will pick up the item that corresponds to the number on the die and place it on their mat (i.e. If their Superhero is wearing red boots and they roll a 1, they would pick up a card with red boots). The first person to fill up their mat is the winner!

Option 2: Using blank Superhero mats
Let students pick which blank Superhero mat they want to use (pp 15-21). Use a 6-sided die and the corresponding die mat included (p 3). Place the Superhero item cards facing up on the table. Have students roll a die after practicing their speech/language targets.

Students will pick up an item that corresponds to the number on the die and place it on their mat. First person to fill up their mat is the winner! ***This differs from option 1B above, because students can dress their Superhero however they want-- they do not need to be searching for specific colors of items (i.e. If a student rolls a 6, they can choose ANY cape-- this option does not require them to choose a specific cape for their mat).***
