In this activity, students will be given 6 insects to analyze and turn into a cladogram. There are 2 versions included:
1. In the easier version, traits are already given for students to look for. Students fill out the chart if the trait is present or absent for each insect and turn it into a cladogram. This version is recommended for SPED or ESL students.
2. In the harder version, students need to come up with their own traits to analyze. Students need to figure out how to arrange the insects on the cladogram based on the traits they chose.
Following the activity, students will fill out a CER chart.
