To prepare: Print an “undressed” leprechaun as well as a set of clothing for each student. Laminate the leprechaun and clothing pieces. Cut out the clothing pieces. Print desired skill cards. I would recommend printing the sheets on different colored paper for each skill to keep the activity organized. Cut apart the flashcards. Laminate if desired and throw into a bag.

To use: Distribute an “undressed leprechaun” to each student in a group and spread out the clothes on a flat surface. Tell each student which color cards they will be working with. Students reach into the bag and pull out a card. If the card is not their “color”, they should put the card back and re-pick. If the card is their “color”, the student answers the question, follows the direction, works on a grammar skills, etc. After the student completes the work for each question, he/or she takes the corresponding clothing item for the leprechaun – as indicated on each card. If the student picks a clothing item that he/she already has for the leprechaun, he or she loses their turn. The first person to collect all of the clothes for the leprechaun OR the person who has the most clothes at the end of the session is the winner.

-- Grammar cards – Set 1 can be used to target regular past tense verbs, present progressive verbs, third person singular verbs, and/or future tense verbs.
-- Grammar cards - Set 2 can be used to target irregular past tense verbs, present progressive verbs, third person singular verbs, and/or future tense verbs.
-- Grammar cards – Set 3 can be used to target regular plural nouns.
